How to interpret these rankings
Top 100, 500 and 1,000 columns count distinct recorded portfolio products whose spend rank falls inside that tier for the observed month. Spend rank is based on trailing-12-month software spending in the Cledara customer dataset.
Default ties use top-500 holdings, top-1,000 holdings, total tracked holdings and investor name. Changing the table order changes its displayed positions, not the measured product spend ranks.
Tracked holdings include recorded unranked portfolio companies. Relationships can be incomplete or historical; a company backed by several firms appears in each firm's counts. Link totals are not distinct product totals or evidence of current ownership.
Portfolio name samples and the JSON source links remain usable without JavaScript. CSV and JSON downloads include every matching investor in the chosen order; All data provides the complete default ranking. Narrative summaries use the measured counts; unverified generated investment commentary is excluded from this research page.

Which recorded investors have the most software-spend top-100 holdings?
Accel, Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz are first in the published ranking by tracked portfolio products in the spend top 100, with ties resolved by the other recorded holding counts and name. This reflects the Cledara customer dataset, rather than investment returns.
How is the investor leaderboard ranked?
The default order counts distinct recorded portfolio products among the top 100 software products by spend rank. Ties use top-500 holdings, top-1,000 holdings, total tracked holdings and name. It is not a combined adoption score or a measure of fund performance.
What does software spend rank measure?
The product's position by trailing-12-month software spending in the Cledara customer dataset. A lower product rank means more recorded spending. The investor columns count portfolio products inside each spend tier.
Are tracked portfolio links the same as distinct software products?
No. A product can be linked to several investors and appear in each firm's counts. Tracked holdings also include recorded unranked companies, and the relationships can be incomplete or historical.
Does this research show investment returns or current ownership?
